Investment Business Forum Sofia

The Investment Forum Sofia was held on 20th of May in Hotel Grand in Sofia. The forum was organised by two partner organisations: North American-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce, branch Sofia and Regional Development Agency South.

The main topic of the Forum was to present the investment potentials in the cross-border regions of Bulgaria and Serbia.

Around 30 businessmen and representatives of municipalities from the two cross-border regions from Serbia (Nisava and Pirot regions) were present at the Forum, as well as representatives of different institutions which provide support to the development of the SMEs.

The Serbian delegation was organised by the Regional Development Agency South.


Important subject of the Forum was on “How to open a company/company’s branch in the Free Zone Pirot, where all needed information was provided to the wider audience.

The topic for discussion during the Forum was what are the economic challenges of doing business in cross-bordering regions of Sofia, Pernik, Custendil, Vidin, as well as in Serbian regions – Nisava and Pirot regions.

Many direct contacts between business entities were established during the Investment Forum in Sofia. The follow up on the established contacts, as well as presentation of the potentials for creation of new ones will be continued on the following Investment Forum in Nis, which will be held on the 5th of June in the Hotel Aleksandar in Nis, Serbia.

This investment Forum is a part of the project Information bridge which is implemented under IPA programme CBC Bulgaria-Serbia.
